In 2023, Hope Mehlberg made a life-changing decision. After years of feeling unfulfilled in her job and coping with the emotional weight of infertility, she knew she needed a new purpose. What began as a part-time dog-walking hobby slowly grew into something that brought her genuine joy — and eventually, a brand-new career.

Hope started walking dogs simply as a way to heal. But nearly two years later, she decided to bet on herself and transform that passion into a full-time venture. That bold leap led her to purchase an old school bus and convert it into a mobile doggy daycare unlike anything her town had ever seen.

Her business, K9 Konvoy, operates out of Oconto, where she also built a private dog park on her family’s property. Each morning, Hope climbs into her paw-print-decorated bus and drives around town, picking up eager pups ready for their day of play, socializing, and adventure. What started as a one-woman project now serves 65 dogs, all part of her growing furry community.

The photos from her daily routes — a bus full of excited, affectionate dogs riding together like schoolchildren — have captured hearts across social media. Dogs of all breeds and sizes sit happily in their seats, some gazing out the window, others crowding around Hope for selfies.
